It has everything of a Surface Pro X, except the price
If the previous generation of surface pro offered a very conventional design, the Pro 8, Microsoft is reviewing its copy, drawing inspiration in particular from the Pro X. It offers an 11% larger screen compared to the previous generation with a 13 almost edge-to-edge inches which now offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This change provides a better experience with the stylus in addition to providing a smoother and more efficient display.
The adjustable foot is replaced by a hinge that is much more pleasant to handle and the keyboard has also gained in volume to be able to accommodate the Surface Pen stylus. The screen is also more responsive, so the stylus is more precise with lower latency. This tablet PC has been designed to be light, easy to carry and versatile and to say, it weighs only 899 grams. This model also incorporates better connectivity with Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6 in addition to an improved photo part: two photo sensors (one at the front and at the back), the main one of which is 10 megapixels and capable of filming up to 4K. Do not expect miracles either, it does the job without more.
More powerful than ever
The Surface Pro 8 has clearly gained in power with finally the presence of an 11th generation Intel i5 chip and 8 GB of RAM. We therefore have doubled performance compared to the previous model. No slowdown when opening creative software or surfing the internet. On the storage side, a 128 GB SSD has been planned, in order to offer you good responsiveness.
Windows 11 is obviously part of it to be able to offer a fluid user experience and will also manage the refresh rate dynamically to maximize autonomy. On this side, Microsoft promises an endurance of 16 hours to be able to hold a day easily away from a socket. Finally, the manufacturer updates the connectors and abandons the USB-A port, in favor of two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Last element: you have the possibility of very easily changing the internal SSD of the machine.
