Microsoft finished last week with a long-awaited release of the dev channel, which contains all sorts of changes and improvements, such as website recommendations in the Start menu, numerous updates to the task manager, suggested new actions and many more. As often happens in the Dev channel, the latest release comes with additional app updates, and it’s Microsoft Store’s turn to receive new features in addition to the operating system.
The Microsoft Store continues to improve with its latest update
Windows Insiders can download a new build from the Microsoft Store (22210.1401.X) with support for Jump Lists. If you are unfamiliar with this feature, Jump Lists are context menus that appear on screen when you right-click on a taskbar icon. These types of lists give you access to the most popular app actions, pinned items, and recent files. Now the Microsoft Store has received these features.
The latest version of Microsoft Store allows you to right-click the icon to open a specific category (Apps, Games, Movies, Library) and launch newly added apps. It’s not a revolutionary improvement by any means, but it’s a welcome addition that makes the Microsoft Store a bit more convenient.
Jump List support joins other improvements Microsoft introduced to its store not too long ago. Earlier this month Microsoft added an improved and simplified search experience and the ability to discover the software offerings that came with your PC.
