The Nokia Streaming Box 8000 allows you to take advantage of an Android experience on TV while offering a limited price. At the moment, this multimedia box is even cheaper: Amazon offers it for 59 euros instead of 99 euros.
When we approach the topic of multimedia boxes, useful for turning your TV into a real smart TV, the Nvidia and Apple brands often manage to dominate the conversation. However, there are other much cheaper alternatives. There is of course Xiaomi, but also Nokia with its Streaming Box 8000. If the latter manages to stand out from the competition, it is in particular thanks to its contained price, which is currently even lower thanks to a reduction of 40 euros.
The power of the Nokia Streaming Box 8000
- A compact and discreet box
- Ready for 4K, HDR10, Google Assistant and Chromecast
- A smooth experience on Android TV
Launched at a price of 99 euros, but now shown at a marked down price of 69 euros, the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is now on sale for 59 euros on Amazon.
A compact case that remains discreet
Classic and sober: this is how you could describe the design of the Nokia Streaming Box 8000. This multimedia box knows how to be discreet with its matte black color and its square format, whose reduced dimensions (11.2 x 11.2 x 2.4 cm) allow it not to stain a TV cabinet. To put this Streaming Box 8000 into operation, simply connect it to your TV via its HDMI port. As for the rest of its connections, the box has an Ethernet port, an AV OUT port, an optical port, a USB-C port and a USB-A 3.0 port. Bluetooth 4.2 will be there to connect wireless devices, such as a gamepad.
Also note that the box comes with a well-thought-out Bluetooth remote control, as it includes shortcut buttons to go to YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video or even Google Play very quickly. Its other advantage? Its backlit buttons, which become very practical in the evening.
Good performance and the flexibility of Android TV
In terms of performance, the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 incorporates an Amlogic S905X3 chip coupled with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. With such a configuration, the box will offer good performance and a very fluid user experience. It will also be able to output videos up to 4K with HDR10 as a bonus. However, we regret the absence of compatibility with Dolby Vision. We will console ourselves with the possibility of running some 3D games, or even with the Netflix certification, which allows the content of the platform to be shown in the highest possible definition.
Finally, the Nokia Streaming Box 8000, which runs Android TV, it provides access to all the flagship applications in the Play Store and offers compatibility with the Chromecast function, which allows you to broadcast different content from a smartphone or tablet. Google Assistant will of course be there to obey all your voice requests. Overall, Google OS provides a fluid and comfortable interface that emphasizes content recommendations.
