French cloud specialists do not take Microsoft’s promises at face value. Admittedly, the Redmond company has just published a few days ago new global software licensing rules intended to respond to attacks targeting it for abuse of a dominant position in the online computing market. But the French professionals in the sector refuse to declare victory too soon.

When Microsoft says it will make it easier to use its software on online servers other than its own, the responses are cautious. “OVHcloud is currently reviewing the impact of Microsoft’s recent announcement of changes affecting European cloud providers. […] OVHcloud will remain vigilant as to the execution as well as the cost and ease of implementation of these announcements, ”said OVHcloud, the French number one at the origin of a complaint in Brussels against the American champion.
