Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2 update suites

The update comes after the rolling out Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2 updates in October. These bring some new features to Windows 11:

  • File Explorer tabs
  • the download (from the Amazon AppStore) and running Android apps on Windows
  • management of applications available from Windows Settings (without going through the Control Panel)
  • the return of the Task Manager from the right-click on the taskbar

For Windows 10, it does not bring new features, but consolidates the acquired features and updates (close to a Windows XP, Vista or 7 Service Pack).

The fixes made in November

Among the fixes deployed for Windows 11 and 10, the main modification concerns a problem with File Explorer. It was unable to open some folders (Windows 11). The rest of the updates relate to the security and stability of Windows. The fixes concern 168 patches including 77 considered critical, 83 important and 3 moderate.

Updates are available in Windows Update, Windows Update, Software Updater for Mac, Microsoft AutoUpdate, App Store app stores for iOS and Google Play app stores for Android. The June Patch Tuesday is the last security update for version 20H2. An update to a recent version of Windows 10 (21H1 and 21H2), or Windows 11, will be offered if the computer is compatible.
