Internationally known artists at auction in Aurillac

“What do you want, I am more moved by this painting than by a car…” This painting, quoted by Wilfried Goolen, Commissioner of Justice, is an oil on canvas signed by Claude Vénard (1913-1999), which he will propose to sale on Thursday 26 January during the big catalog sale at the end of the year, exceptionally postponed at the start of the year. This painting, estimated at between €4,000 and €5,000, is one of the many contemporary paintings that Wilfried Goolen will be offering.

A painting by Claude Vénard, estimated between €4,000 and €5,000.

There are many more paintings than usual, with artists known and recognized internationally

“There are many more than usual, with artists known and recognized internationally”, the justice commissioner reveals. For example La Tête, by Robert Combas (€7,000 to €10,000), or these various works by the American graffiti artist JonOne, Talks-over (€8,000 to €12,000), the United Kingdom Moi-Même (€3,000 to €5,000 ) or Burial E Treasures (€3,000 to €5,000).

This composition by Robert Marc is estimated between €2,000 and €2,500.

And also a canvas by Ben (€1,800 to €2,500) or this abstract composition by Robert Marc, a Burgundian painter influenced by the Russian avant-garde and cubism (€2,000 to 2,500). Another area, but equally modern, is living room furniture designed by Le Corbusier and produced by Cassina: a sofa, two armchairs and two footstools, all identified (€5,000 to €8,000).

Other interesting pieces slipped into this cataloged sale: such as these two crude glasses by Gabriel Loire, as bright as they come (€100 to €150), a porcelain doll by François Gaultier (late 19th century, €500 to €600). Or this curious mirror in enamelled and gilded earthenware, signed Mithé Espelt, brought by a customer “who saw the same mirror selling for too much on television”, explains Wilfried Goolen.

The jewelery sale, which will take place on Tuesday 24 January, will feature just over 200 lots, with estimates ranging from €10 (a pair of Baccarat crystal earrings) to €5,000 (a yellow gold necklace set with a diamond).
