Hitachi Solutions releases Microsoft apps

Hitachi Solutions wants to be an accelerator for the digitization of the construction sector thanks to new dedicated Microsoft applications.

In order for teams to collaborate more effectively and securely with each other, digital transformation expert Hitachi Solutions, with the participation of 9 UK construction companies, has developed turnkey and easy-to-use applications. Using Microsoft’s Power Apps tool, these low-code apps can be used by anyone and are designed for industry-specific use cases.

These ergonomic and intuitive applications based on Microsoft Power Apps were created in just one month. They are intended to be very graphic and flexible for different use cases in the sector. Craftsmen, construction managers and project owners are the main actors affected by this innovation. Many advantages arise from their use, in particular speeding up the delivery time of the works or modernizing the management of personnel safety.

For each actor, but also for each use, the applications offer a dedicated functionality. Thus, the craftsmen on site can report their arrivals and departures from the site, access the safety rules directly from the application (mobile and tablet) and easily report a risk or an incident by taking live pictures.

The better traceability of risks therefore reduces the prolongation of delays and financial costs. The site manager can easily access the information that the craftsmen have reported and act as quickly as possible. It can also update security measures. Finally, the client supervises the construction site at height and gets access to statistics regarding risks and incidents.
