Halo: The Endless trademark filed by Microsoft, challenged by Amplitude Studios | Xbox One

In December 2021, we mentioned the filing of the Halo: The Endless trademark by Microsoft. If we do not yet really know what it refers to, on the other hand, we learn today that it is the subject of a dispute in France.

Halo: The Endless is confusing?

It is via the HaloHub Twitter account that we discover that Amplitude Studios has opposed the Halo: The Endless brand. The French studio is behind the game Dungeon of the Endless, available on PC and consoles since 2016, but also Endless Dungeon, the roguelite from the same universe expected in 2023.

By opposing Microsoft’s trademark application, one imagines that the studio fears that Halo: The Endless will eclipse its search engine game, or that some confusion may reign.

Keep in mind that we currently don’t know what Halo: The Endless is referring to. It could be the name of the first expansion of Halo Infinite, as well as the name of a new game. We now have to wait for Microsoft’s response to the opposition of their trademark application.
