The hype for GTA 6 has reached a boiling point. The long-awaited sequel to 2013’s GTA 5 has been in “development” for almost 10 years now. Fans have been eagerly awaiting any kind of news about the game, but alas, there has been almost nothing from Rockstar, in terms of marketing or media. But, in a strange turn of events, Microsoft seems to think GTA 6 will be released in 2024. In a response to the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regarding the Activision-Blizzard merger, Microsoft said it believes that GTA 6 will launch in 2024. Microsoft also referenced a Tech Radar article from July 2022 which itself liked the original Bloomberg article from the same time.
GTA 6 launching in 2024?
The answer was given to downplay Call of Duty by comparing it to another successful franchise. Microsoft said companies like Rockstar, Epic Games and more had a large share of the market, which is why its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard could not be considered a monopoly on the industry. Although debatable, it is clear that the merger will be one of the most important in history, if it goes through without any problems. Rockstar, on the other hand, faced its own set of problems due to GTA 6 leaks in September. The leaked GTA 6 video on YouTube was around 52 minutes long and there were around 90 leaked clips of the new GTA game. In the GTA forums where the leak was shared, the leaker says, “Here are 90 images/clips of GTA 6. It is possible that I will be able to release more data, source code and resources of GTA 5 soon and 6, the test version of GTA 6. »
There has been no official announcement from Rockstar or parent company Take-Two Interactive regarding GTA 6.
